Waffle House adds egg surcharge amid rising egg prices
Feb 04, 2025
Waffle House, a popular breakfast chain in Atlanta, has added a 50-cent surcharge per egg due to rising egg prices caused by a nationwide shortage. This surcharge will stay until the prices go back to normal. The chain promises to keep using quality, fresh eggs until they are available. The shortage is because of the bird flu outbreak, where many egg-laying hens were affected. Waffle House isn't the only place adjusting prices; other restaurants and grocery stores are also facing this issue. The Department of Agriculture predicts that egg prices will increase by about 20% in 2025. Customers should expect similar price changes in other places too. Hopefully, the egg prices will go back to normal soon.
