Sunday Puzzle: Hidden human body sentences
Feb 03, 2025
The Sunday Puzzle on NPR is a fun game where you have to find hidden body parts in sentences. Each answer has five or more letters. For example, if the sentence is "Jethro ate a pear," the hidden body part is THROAT.
Other sentences on the puzzle include things like "Take the fastest highway home," "My office will compel visitors to show ID," and "Can a model with a mustache eke out a living?" You have to figure out which body part is hidden in each one.
Last week's challenge was to think of a popular singer with two-syllable first and last names, then drop the second syllable from each name to get a piece of a toy. The answer was Dolly Parton, which becomes "doll part" when you drop the second syllables.
This week's challenge asks you to think of a seven-letter body part, add a B, and rearrange the letters to get another body part. If you think you know the answer, you can submit it for a chance to play the on-air puzzle.
Playing the Sunday Puzzle can be a fun way to challenge your brain and learn new things while having a good time. You can listen to the puzzle on NPR's Weekend Edition Sunday and try to solve it yourself. If you get the answer right, you might even get a chance to play the puzzle on-air. So give it a try and test your puzzle-solving skills!
