NFL Honors picks: CBS Sports staff crowns MVP, Coach of the Year, other top performers, including playoffs

Feb 06, 2025
The NFL honors the best players and coaches every year. This year, the CBS Sports staff voted for their picks. They included the playoffs in their decisions, unlike the official Associated Press awards which only consider the regular season. For MVP, the staff couldn't decide between Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson. Saquon Barkley was chosen as Offensive Player of the Year for his outstanding performance with the Eagles. Patrick Surtain II was named Defensive Player of the Year for his lockdown defense with the Broncos. Jayden Daniels was selected as Offensive Rookie of the Year for his impressive debut season with the Commanders. Jared Verse was chosen as Defensive Rookie of the Year for his strong performance with the Rams. Joe Burrow was named Comeback Player of the Year for his outstanding comeback with the Bengals. Kevin O'Connell was chosen as Coach of the Year for leading the Vikings to 14 wins despite a tough playoff loss. These awards recognize the hard work and talent of the players and coaches in the NFL. Every year, new stars emerge and make their mark on the league.
