Workday lays off 1,750 employees, citing demand for AI

Feb 06, 2025
A big company called Workday is making changes because of AI. They are letting go of 1,750 employees, which is about 8.5% of their workers. The CEO, Carl Eschenbach, says they need to focus on AI to grow. They will keep investing in AI and new technology, but will also hire in some areas. The employees who are losing their jobs will get at least 12 weeks of pay in the US, and other benefits in different countries. This is a big change for Workday, but they hope it will help them grow in the future.
