Car drives into crowd in Munich, Germany, wounding about 20 people, police say
Feb 13, 2025
In Munich, Germany, something very scary happened. A car drove into a crowd of people. Almost 30 people got hurt, and some of them were kids. It happened in the middle of the day when many people were around.
The driver was a 24-year-old man from Afghanistan. He might have done this on purpose. Some people were hurt badly. The police quickly caught the driver so that no one else would be in danger. They found a damaged Mini Cooper car and some shoes on the ground.
Munich’s mayor felt very sad about what happened. He was worried about the injured people, especially the children. At that time, some workers were having a big meeting nearby, but it’s not clear if they got hurt.
This event shocked the city. There will be a lot of police around in the next few days because a big meeting about safety and security is happening in Munich. Important people, like the Vice President of the U.S., are coming to that meeting.
Just a little while ago, there was a similar bad event where a man drove a truck into a crowd at a Christmas market. That was a terrible day, too, and many people were hurt.
In another part of Germany, a young man was caught trying to do something very bad. He wanted to hurt people at a place where asylum seekers live, so the police were alerted. It seems like these things are happening too much, and they worry many people.
Even when bad things happen, many good things and nice people still exist. It’s important to stay safe, to be kind, and to help others. We can all work together to make the world a better place!
