Trump’s Gaza ‘plan’: What it is, why it’s unworkable and globally rejected

Feb 13, 2025
A man named Donald Trump had a big idea about a place called Gaza. Gaza is home to many people, about two million. Trump said that the United States should take control of Gaza and move the people somewhere else, like Egypt or Jordan. He thought this would help them live happier lives, away from fighting. He even imagined Gaza could become a fancy place, like a resort! But many people were angry about this idea. They felt it was unfair to make people leave their homes. Building a nice place but forcing people out isn’t right, they said. In the past, many Palestinian people had to leave their homes, and this reminded them of that sad time. It’s called the Nakba, which means "catastrophe" in Arabic. Palestinians in Gaza were upset. They said they love their land and wouldn’t want to leave, no matter how hard life can be. A father in Gaza said, “Where would we even go?” Many said that it was not fair for someone far away to decide what happens to their homes. Some other important people and countries also disagreed with Trump. They said it’s wrong to push people away and that every country should help fix Gaza without hurting its people. They want to make things better for everyone living there. Jordan and Egypt, two countries nearby, said they don’t agree with Trump’s plan. They want to help the people in Gaza stay where they are. They think building a good place to live is important, but it should include everyone who is already there. In the end, many people feel that Trump’s big plan isn't possible. They believe it is not good to force people out of their homes and that everyone deserves to feel safe in their own land. Lots of voices share this thought: homes are special, and everyone should stay in their own.
